Thoughts you Want Your Kids to Have
Who are children? They are a second chance to correct our flawed generation! We have a sole opportunity of correcting the things which we might have done wrong or not have done at all. Kids are the mirror of their parents’ personality. They tend to copy each and everything you do, be it their dressing or speaking style. One should be extremely cautious while speaking or performing any task in front of our kids. Psychologist Carolyn and Philip Cowan have researched and found that happy parents are more likely to have happy kids.
Today we are sharing few thoughts which we believe every parent should teach their children at an early age to raise the better human.
1. Optimism:
Teach your children to think positively in every situation. Once they have this character in their personality, it will help them in every aspect of their life. Children should believe in the motto–“I can do it and I will do it”.
2. Eat healthily, stay fit:
Maintaining health (Physical as well as mental) is one of the most important thought which we should instill in our children. It is important to make them understand that overall fitness affects everything in their life and will help them to achieve whatever they desire for.
3. Generosity:
Kids should know the art of forgiveness, care, and kindness. They should understand that good behavior always attract friends. Also, in one of the research, it has been discovered that being generous makes children happier than anything else. It has been seen that toddlers become happier when they give away treats to others more than when they receive treats.
4. Socially responsible:
Teach your children, the importance of being socially responsible. They should understand and rethink if any of their actions are not harming or hurting anyone. According to Dr. Dawn Eaker and Dr. Lynda Walter, family rituals increase family cohesiveness and enable children to develop socially.
5. Eagerness to learn:
One should feed the child’s curiosity and should offer deep listening to keep their interest and curiosity intact. If parents give their child something to concentrate on, they may produce eagerness to think from the 360-degree angle.
Children are good imitators, therefore, we should give them something great to imitate. They follow our actions more than our advice. We as parents should always set a good example for them to follow. This thought is very well expressed by a famous football player- “Your kids watch you for a living. It’s their job: it’s what they do. That’s why it’s so important to try your best to be a good role model” – We would love to know how you try to be a good role model for your son/daughter.
